1. What is Openlink Endur?
Openlink Endur is a leading ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) software used by energy companies, utilities, and financial institutions to manage the full trade lifecycle. It supports trading of power, gas, oil, and environmental products, offering robust capabilities for deal capture, risk management, settlements, and reporting. Endur provides front-to-back integration with configurable workflows and a strong data model.
2. Understand Basic Endur Application Concepts
Deal Capture: Recording trades into the system.
Market Data: Maintaining curves, prices, and indexes for valuation.
Portfolios: Grouping trades for tracking exposure and P&L.
Event Processing: Tracks lifecycle changes like fixings, settlements.
Settlement Rules: Defines how and when payments are calculated and processed.
Reporting: Generating P&L, risk, and operational reports.
3. End-to-End Trade Lifecycle (Front, Mid, Back Office)
Front Office: Trade entry, pricing, valuation, and real-time P&L.
Middle Office: Risk monitoring, limits checks, value at risk (VaR), exposure analysis.
Back Office: Confirmations, settlements, invoicing, accounting.
4. Deal Modelling
In Endur, deal modelling refers to setting up different types of deals (e.g., physical, financial, options) with parameters such as delivery period, price formula, volume, and counterparty. Tools like Super Index, Secondary Charges, and Formulas are used to represent complex deal structures.
5. Risk Reports and Value at Risk (VaR) Analysis
Endur provides built-in risk reporting tools to monitor exposure and generate daily VaR. These tools help measure potential losses based on market volatility and are key for middle office users to manage financial risk.
6. Confirmations and Settlements
Confirmations: Generating and sending contract documents to counterparties for verification. Can be automated or manual.
Settlements: Calculating cash flows based on pricing, volume, and terms. The Settlement Desktop is used to process payments, manage exceptions, and generate invoices
